Lebanon in the 1960's was known as the Switzerland of the Middle East or sometimes known as the Pearl of the Middle East was a touristic and commercial hub that European and American investors travelled to as Lebanon had banking secrecy (like Switzerland) therefore during the Persian Gulf oil boom the country received a lot European and American influence, another immense factor in the Europeanisation of Lebanon
Was the French Mandate (1923−1946) caused the French language to be an officially recognized and a spoken language in Lebanon. Lebanon has close ties with Europe and it also desires to be a European country evident by the license plates they use. This creates a decently strong link between Lebanon and Europe.
